New US Bill Targets Green Card Lottery and Stricter Visa Policies

New US Bill Targets Green Card Lottery and Stricter Visa Policies

Alabama Republican Representative Barry Moore unveiled a new immigration proposal on Thursday, claiming it would change how individuals enter the country, both legally and illegally, as a significant reform that may affect millions of green card applicants and holders. Moore described the Bill as a reset of national objectives in a post on X.

“To reform our immigration system, I proposed the Americans First Immigration Act today. The days of prioritizing foreign labor, illegals, and arbitrary diversity lotteries above American workers are long gone. He wrote, “It’s time for our system to serve Americans once more.”

The measure closely aligns with Donald Trump’s “America First” immigration strategy, according to a Fox News report. The bill would eliminate the diversity visa lottery, reduce family-based sponsorship categories, and narrow legal immigration avenues while concentrating on candidates with highly sought-after skills. The purpose, according to Moore, who proposed the bill in the House, is to prioritize US Americans by rewriting portions of the current immigration law.

“My Bill draws a clear line: the days of prioritizing foreign labor, illegals, and arbitrary diversity lotteries above American workers are ended. The American people should be served by our immigration system, not undermined, and this entails choosing people who will uphold our laws, boost our economy, and share our beliefs.
