RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s automotive sector is entering a new phase with the arrival of advanced hybrid vehicles built on Range-Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV) technology. These next-gen models showcased at the EV Auto Show Riyadh 2025 promise of improved performance efficiency and driving range to suit the Kingdom’s evolving mobility landscape.
Rox Motors, a fast-growing Chinese brand drew significant attention at the event with the debut of its latest hybrid model, the Adamas. The new vehicle which features are enhanced version of REEV technology that blends the convenience of fuel-powered engines with the efficiency of electric energy.
Ahmed Al-Obaidi, CEO of Rox KSA, explained that the system operates by using gasoline to generate electricity directly, powering a generator that charges the battery while another portion fuels the extender to boost electric output. This hybrid approach efficiently bridges electric and gas technology perfectly designed for the Saudi market, he said.
Although REEV technology has made previous appearances in the Kingdom, Rox Motors’ upgraded system brings smarter energy conversion and faster charging, resulting in smoother city drives and longer-distance efficiency. The company expects growing demand in Saudi Arabia, with local drivers increasingly turning toward the sustainable vehicles that offer both power and practicality.
