RIYADH: To commemorate the first-ever “Made in Italy Day,” the Italian Embassy in Riyadh opened a new visa application center and exhibition area on Tuesday.

The deputy head of the mission, Giuliano Fragnito, told Arab News that the occasion offered a chance to highlight Italian proficiency in a number of industries, such as the fashion, design, automotive, and space sectors.

“We are commemorating ‘Made in Italy Day,’ a day that honors the inventiveness, inventiveness, Italian territories, and Italian products,” he stated.

According to Fragnito, the new exhibition space, Casa Italia, aims to promote Italy from a “commercial, cultural and scientific point of view.” The “Italian Space Way” opening event will honor the country’s space industry contributions.

He said that the Italian Space Agency and the Saudi Space Commission signed an agreement in 2022 to collaborate more closely, so the event was appropriate given that Italy and Saudi Arabia were close partners in the field.

According to Fragnito, the main goal of Tuesday’s festivities was to draw attention to the expanding bilateral ties between Italy and the Kingdom in several areas.

Saudi Arabia is an essential partner for Italy, and both countries’ bilateral ties are expanding quickly. This is true not only from a political perspective but also in trade, science, academia, and culture.
