Paris: Saudi Ambassador Princess Reema is Received by French Senator Goulet

On Monday, French Senator Nathalie Goulet met with Saudi Arabia’s ambassadors to the US and France, Princess Reema Bandar Al-Saud and Ambassador Fahad Al-Ruwaily, respectively, in Paris.

The princess is in France as a representative of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee and the International Olympic Committee.

A tour of the Senate was part of the visit, and talks regarding a range of subjects were covered, such as Saudi Arabia’s involvement in the recently ended Olympics in Paris, potential areas of collaboration, and the development of women’s sports in the Kingdom.

Goulet made the following statement in French: “We are pleased to have Her Royal Highness Princess Reema visit the Senate today. I complimented her on her recent address at the Olympic Committee and the remarkable increase in female athletes’ involvement in her country. Princess Reema is a living example of the enormous progress Saudi Arabia is making in the area of women’s emancipation.

During her statement at the 142nd session of the IOC, the princess recently said that “kindness and human dignity must prevail every time” and that the unfair media criticism of Algerian Olympic boxer Imane Khelif must end.
