Russia Says that Trump and Putin will Meet in Alaska on August 15

Russia Says Trump

Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump will meet on Aug. 15 in the U.S. state of Alaska to explore alternatives for bringing about enduring peace in Ukraine, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov revealed Saturday.

The U.S. side recently declared that an agreement had been reached to set up a meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, the presidents of the United States and Russia, on Friday, August 15, in Alaska. Russia and the United States share a border and are close neighbors. He told reporters in Moscow that it makes perfect sense for our delegation to just fly over the Bering Strait and for the crucial and much awaited summit of our two nations’ leaders to take place in Alaska.

Trump had declared on Truth Social that he will meet Putin face-to-face for the first time since his return to the White House in January on August 15 in Alaska. The Arctic region and Alaska are natural areas of shared interest for both countries, with the potential for large-scale bilateral projects,” Ushakov said. But Ukraine will be the main emphasis, he added.
