Saudi Arabia and Allies Strive to Advance a two-State Solution to Israel

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia and its partners have formed a global alliance to advance a two-state solution agenda for the Israeli-Palestinian issue, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan announced on Thursday.

According to the top Saudi official, the agenda is founded on the belief that establishing a Palestinian state is the only way to achieve a durable peace.

“What we are trying to do is build a coalition aimed at implementing the two-state solution and that needs certain building blocks, including capacity building within the Palestinian authority,” the prince explained.

He stated that the Kingdom and its partners would hold senior working level talks in Riyadh, Brussels, Cairo, Oslo, Amman, and Ankara as part of the plan.

“I fail to understand how the continuation of war can be the only option,” he told reporters. “There must be other options, and therefore I will reiterate our call for a ceasefire and for diplomacy to prevail.”

The decades-long conflict reached a boiling point on October 7, when Hamas militants poured across the Gaza border and attacked Israeli settlements, killing roughly 1,200 people. Israeli retaliation has devastated Gaza, killing over 41,000 people.
