Saudi Arabia and Regional Partners Stand Firm Against Displacement of Palestinians from Gaza

RIYADH According to the Saudi Press Agency, the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkiye, and Qatar expressed grave worry on Friday regarding Israeli remarks on the opening of the Rafah crossing in a single direction. The ministers warned in a joint statement that the action might make it easier for Palestinians to flee the Gaza Strip and relocate to Egypt.

They emphasized the necessity for complete adherence to the plan proposed by US President Donald Trump, which called for opening the Rafah crossing in both directions and ensuring freedom of movement without coercion. They vehemently denounced any attempts to drive Palestinians off their land.

The ministers stressed that under a comprehensive framework intended to restore stability and manage the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, circumstances must be established to permit Palestinians to stay on their land and participate in the reconstruction of their country.

They emphasized the significance of carrying out Trump’s plan completely and without hindrance and reaffirmed their gratitude for his dedication to regional peace. The statement emphasized a long-term truce, an end to civilian suffering, unimpeded humanitarian access to Gaza, and the start of early recovery and reconstruction operations.
