Saudi Arabia Increases Funding for 98 Municipal Positions and Initiatives by 20%

The financial support for about 98 jobs and activities in the housing and municipal sectors will be increased by 20 percent for the Saudi national workforce.

The Human Resources Development Fund and the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing together announced raising the Employment Support Program’s financial aid rate from thirty percent to fifty percent. This modification will be applicable to 45 activities and 53 professions, with an SR3,000 ($800) upper cap.

The ministry, which was formerly known as the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing, stated that the goal of the move is to enforce localization and provide skilled and trained labor to the industry in a post on its X account.

The employment program is a component of the government’s larger plan to boost Saudi citizens’ involvement in a range of industries, in line with Vision 2030 objectives to diversify the economy and improve job prospects for Saudis.

The decision to localize 25% of engineering professions went into effect on July 21, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in collaboration. Businesses in the private sector that employ five or more people in engineering positions are subject to this policy.

This choice is a component of both ministries’ initiatives to provide Kingdom residents with more interesting and worthwhile employment options.
