The first-ever diploma program in game development and virtual worlds in Saudi Arabia will be introduced by Tuwaiq Academy and Meta on September 15.
The program “aims to empower national capabilities with essential skills in game development, building virtual worlds, and augmented and virtual reality technologies using a learning methodology based on the needs of the job market,” the academy said in a statement obtained by the Saudi Press Agency on Wednesday.
The program, which has been accredited by the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, provides educational curricula with international professional certifications in order to give trainees the necessary skills. These certifications include developing and programming virtual worlds, modeling in three dimensions (3D), creating augmented and mixed reality applications, using the C# programming language, Unity engine, and Web 3 technologies.
Over the course of two semesters and more than 800 training hours, participants in the program will learn how to design and implement application projects under the guidance of a qualified teaching staff.
Abdulaziz Al-Hammadi, the chief executive of Tuwaiq Academy, said that the technical diploma is a component of the academy’s initiatives to launch a variety of educational programs and establish collaborations with significant international organizations.
