Saudi Arabian security forces have made a major bust, seizing a staggering 6,875,000 amphetamine pills that were cleverly concealed inside paint containers. The shipment originated from Lebanon and was intended for smuggling to another country through the Jeddah Islamic Port.
According to Brig. Gen. Talal bin Abdul Mohsen bin Shalhoub, the Ministry of Interior’s security spokesman, authorities arrested the individuals behind this operation and confiscated an additional 8 million amphetamine pills from them. This brings the total haul to an impressive 14.85 million pills.
He explained that the Ministry’s vigilant monitoring efforts, spearheaded by the General Directorate of Narcotics Control, have been crucial in tracking and disrupting criminal networks involved in drug smuggling. “By sharing intelligence with our counterparts in Lebanon, we were able to apprehend those responsible for sending the drugs,” he noted.
The spokesman also called on citizens and residents to come forward with any tips about drug smuggling or trafficking activities. Reports can be made by dialing 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, or the Eastern Province; 999 in other regions; or contacting the General Directorate of Narcotics Control at 995 or via email at 995@gdnc.gov.sa. He assured that all information would be treated with full confidentiality, and reporters would face no liability.
