The official state visit of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the US marked a significant step in advancing Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 economic reform plan, reinforcing its regional leadership, and strengthening international ties. President Donald Trump welcomed the Crown Prince warmly at the White House, calling him “my friend” and “one of the most respected leaders in the world.” The two leaders highlighted the start of a “new chapter” in US-Saudi relations aimed at mutual benefit.
A central highlight was Trump’s approval of a major defense deal providing Saudi Arabia with 48 advanced F-35 fighter jets, making the Kingdom the first Arab country to receive these aircraft. This deal aims to bolster Saudi security amid a changing Middle Eastern political landscape. A symbolic flyover of six F-35 jets above the White House underscored the strategic importance of this partnership.
The visit also featured high-level talks with members of Congress and leading US CEOs, focused on expanding economic cooperation, particularly in technology, and leveraging investment opportunities created by Vision 2030. The Saudi-US Investment Forum held at the Kennedy Center aimed to further deepen business ties and foster new partnerships.
