At the King Fahd Causeway, the Al-Haditha border crossing, and Duba Port, the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) stopped three drug smuggling efforts and confiscated more than 220,000 illegal pills that were concealed in cars and a traveler’s luggage.
Customs officers found 120,370 Captagon pills and 45,975 other illegal pills hidden in the cavities of a car’s four doors during the initial operation at the King Fahd Causeway. 21,011 Captagon pills were concealed in a traveler’s garment bag during the second attempt at the Al-Haditha border crossing.
Customs officials discovered 34,084 Captagon pills hidden within the driver’s seat cavities of a truck that was coming in Saudi Arabia during the third incident at Duba Port.
ZATCA worked with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control to capture the contraband’s recipients within the Kingdom after the seizures. The smuggling attempts resulted in the arrest of two people.
To stop smuggling and protect the population, ZATCA underlined its dedication to strict customs monitoring of Saudi imports and exports. By fighting attempts to smuggle dangerous drugs and other contraband, we are committed to improving security and safeguarding society,” ZATCA said.
