RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s health minister said that 2,645 healthcare workers from 56 countries have been awarded premium residency, also referred to as the “Saudi green card” informally. Fahd Al-Jalajel made the announcement on Monday, the first day of the Global Health Forum in Riyadh.
In a statement, he claimed the action was a part of broader initiatives to draw in and keep top talent, such as physicians and practitioners in priority health specialities. The statement added that these highly qualified employees are essential in helping Saudi professionals acquire knowledge and international experience.
“We find that the main benefit has been definitely the travel, in and out of the country, every time, whether we go on a business visit or visit at home to see family,” he told Arab News. We are thrilled that we are already enjoying the advantages that the program has to offer. Additionally, we still aim to take advantage of such functionalities in the future.
