The person in charge of the two holy mosques. On Monday, King Salman issued two royal orders reconstituting the Council of Senior Scholars and the Shoura Council. According to the Saudi Press Agency, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Sheikh was reappointed as speaker of the Shoura Council and Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Sheikh, was reappointed chairman of the Council of Senior Scholars.
Dr. Hanan Al-Ahmadi was reappointed assistant speaker of the Shoura Council, and Mishaal Al-Salami was reappointed deputy speaker. The 150-member Shoura Council has been reorganised for a four-year term starting Friday, Rabi Al-Awwal 3, 1446, which is September 6, 2024.
The 21-member Council of Senior Scholars consists of 20 members in addition to the chairman. Speaker of the Shoura Council Sheikh Abdulllah Al-Sheikh, Secretary General of the Muslim World League Sheikh Muhammad Al-Issa, Speaker of the Shoura Council and Grand Mosque Imam Sheikh Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid, Former Secretary General of the MWL Sheikh Abdullah Al-Turki, and Attorney General of Saudi Arabia Sheikh Saud Al-Muajab are among the members of the Council.
Sheikh Saleh Al-Fawzan, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Manea, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Mutlaq, Sheikh Saad Al-Shathri, Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Kulliyah, Sheikh Muhammad Al-Sheikh, Sheikh Yusuf Saeed, Sheikh Muhammad Mazid, Sheikh Jibreel Al-Bassayli, Sheikh Abdulsalam Al-Sulayman, Sheikh Ghalib Hamdhi, Sheikh Sami Al-Sokhair, Sheikh Bandar Baleela, Sheikh Abdulbaqi Mubarak, and Sheikh Abdulilah Al-Mulla are additional distinguished scholars who are part of the Council.
