RIYADH: According to a Friday Saudi Press Agency article, the Kingdom’s Ministry of Health has released an awareness package in eight languages for the upcoming Hajj season. Content in Arabic, English, French, Urdu, Persian, Indonesian, Malay, and Turkish is all included in the package.
The goal of the multilingual approach is to reach as many pilgrims as possible from different countries around the world,” the SPA report said. Its main elements are recommendations for avoiding heat exhaustion. Pilgrims are encouraged to use umbrellas to minimise direct sun exposure and maintain proper hydration.
The bundle includes videos, social media postings, and printed materials. Depending on their countries of origin, pilgrims are also urged to ensure they are vaccinated against COVID-19, poliomyelitis, yellow fever, and meningococcal meningitis.
The ministry recommended that pilgrims with long-term illnesses bring documentation of their ailments as well as sufficient amounts of prescription drugs in their original containers. Additionally, it advised pilgrims to refresh their immunisations against polio, measles, chickenpox, mumps, tetanus, whooping cough, and diphtheria.
