The Significance of Education and Innovation in Establishing Museums is Enhanced by the Riyadh Conference

In order to expand the visitor experience and optimize its influence in the public realm, speakers at the International Conference for Education and Innovation in Museums emphasized the need of strengthening the role of education and fostering innovation in the museum sector. The Saudi Museums Commission in Riyadh is in charge of organizing the three-day conference, which got underway on Saturday.

In order for museums to fulfill its crucial and successful function as civic and communal spaces, the experts emphasized the significance of launching trans-learning projects in many disciplines and tailoring solutions to the contextual circumstances in every society.

Through the talks and opportunities for collaboration offered by the first international conference organized by the commission in the presence of an esteemed group of scholars and experts from renowned and innovative institutions around the world, they also emphasized the importance of education and innovation in supporting the aspirations of the museum sector.

Prof. Adam Habib, vice chancellor of the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London, addressed a session titled “Cooperation between museums and universities.” He stated that in order for global solutions to be successful, local adaptation is necessary. “The world needs innovation, local experiences, and adapting solutions to the contextual realities of each community. Adopting knowledge systems from the Western world alone will not be sufficient to confront global challenges,” he stated.
