Pakistan’s “continued success” in keeping terrorist organizations in check both locally and globally has been praised by the US. “The United States has expressed condolences for the loss of life in terrorist incidents in Pakistan,” the two nations said in a joint statement following Tuesday’s Pakistan-US Counter-Terrorism Dialogue in Islamabad.
Pakistan’s foreign ministry published a joint statement that praised Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to curb terrorist organizations that threaten regional and global peace and security. The United States supported these efforts.
The United States also conveyed its condolences for the loss of civilians and law enforcement personnel in terrorist incidents in Pakistan, such as the bombing of a school bus in Khuzdar and the savage Jaffar Express terrorist attack,” the statement said. The statement was released the day after the United States classified the Majeed Brigade, an alias for the Pakistani separatist Baloch Liberation Army, as a foreign terrorist body.
Both the US and Pakistan have classified the BLA as a terrorist organization. The group has been fighting the Pakistani government for decades in an effort to win independence for its province, which is rich in natural resources.
