Using Cutting-Edge Smartphone Chargers, Volt Charge will Improve Saudi Arabia's EV Infrastructure

Local firm Volt Charge plans to introduce next-generation mobile EV chargers to Saudi Arabia, advancing the country’s electric car infrastructure, according to the chief executive of the company.

At the EV Auto Show in Riyadh, Elie Metri, CEO and executive board member of Volt Charge, informed Arab News that the company is completing the prototype of its ground-breaking mobile charger in association with its sister company QSS AI & Robotics.

As part of a larger plan to reduce city emissions by 50% and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060, Saudi Arabia plans to convert 30% of its cars in Riyadh to electric power by 2030. This requires a strong charging infrastructure.

We are combining robotics with electric vehicle charging, two cutting-edge technologies. We are in the process of completing the first charger prototype that will be sent to you. Metri stated, “You won’t need to go to your charger any more.

Using a mobile app, drivers may request a charger in a mall. The charger uses artificial intelligence (AI) to recognize the car, establish a connection, and handle payment. The device returns to its main station after charging.

Metri pointed out that this is a major development in the field of electric car technology.
