A soldier was seen pushing a guy who appeared to be dead off a rooftop in footage from an Israeli operation in the occupied West Bank. The army called this occurrence a “serious incident” on Friday.
AFPTV captured the operation on Thursday in the town of Qabatiyah, near Jenin. As at least two other soldiers watched, an Israeli soldier used his foot to roll the body toward the edge of the roof and then pushed him over.
The military has been conducting extensive operations in Qabatiyah, in the northern West Bank, since late August. According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, these raids have resulted in the deaths of numerous people.
Four militants were killed “in an exchange of fire” in Qabatiyah, according to a statement released by Israel’s military on Friday. Three militants were killed in an airstrike that targeted a car.
When questioned about the video depicting a soldier pushing a corpse from a rooftop, the military stated that the behavior went against its principles.
This is a grave occurrence that is at odds with the ideals of the Israeli army and what is expected of its men. It stated, “The incident is being reviewed.”
