RIYADH: This week’s Saudi Pet Expo 2025 honored the Kingdom’s steadily improving animal welfare. Now in its fourth year, the event brought together families, industry experts, pet owners, and rescuers at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center.
Grooming stations, veterinary clinics, pet accessory companies, breeders, tech startups, training services, and educational sessions were all present at this year’s event. It demonstrated the growing interest of Saudi families, young people, and volunteers in animal welfare as well as a national trend toward responsible pet ownership.
The entire magazine was devoted to pet rescuers—people who have intervened to save injured or neglected animals, giving them a permanent home, shelter, and medical attention. It celebrated “heroes of compassion,” regular people whose actions frequently go unappreciated yet have a significant influence on Saudi Arabian animal welfare.
The organizers highlighted how many rescue stories depict people experiencing emotional recovery in addition to animals being saved.
In addition to highlighting the emotional and social transformation that occurs when someone rescues and cares for an animal in need, the competition sought to increase awareness of the significance of saving stray and neglected animals and to promote the adoption of rescue animals rather than those bred for sale.
