The Restoration of a Landmark Mosque in Al-Zulfi: Blending Tradition with

In Al-Zulfi, located to the northwest of Riyadh, the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Project for the Development of Historical Mosques has successfully completed repairs to the Al-Mansaf Mosque. According to a report that was published by the Saudi Press Agency on Tuesday, the mosque is designed in the traditional Najdi architectural style and makes use of local resources such as tamarisk wood, palm fronds, and mud.

In addition to its historical significance as a transit point for pilgrims and visitors, the mosque also played an important role in the community by serving as a religious and educational center. The property was increased from 200 to 337 square meters as a result of painstaking redevelopment, which practically doubled its capacity to accommodate 150 worshipers, according to the SPA.

Dedicated prayer areas for women and enhanced service facilities are among the modern improvements made to the mosque. These additions have been incorporated with sustainable heritage standards in order to ensure that the mosque’s true identity is preserved for future generations. To ensure the long-term viability of the mosque’s components while conserving its heritage, the proposal strikes a balance between traditional and contemporary building requirements.
