In Hong Kong, a humanoid robot approximately the size of a primary school kid sang songs and spoke to people in Mandarin and English, answering whatever questions they asked and delighted the audience. More than 100 robots were on display at two exhibitions beginning Monday at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. They included the X2 Ultra robot from AGIBOT Innovation (Shanghai) Technology Co., a well-known Chinese humanoid robot manufacturer.
When asked what its hobbies were, the robot listed anything from sports and dancing to technology and music. Describing the persons in front of it is also simple: “a woman holding a phone, a woman holding a bag and a phone, a man holding a camera,” it stated at one point.
Calvin Chiu, the chief operating officer of Novautek Autonomous Driving, AGIBOT’s Hong Kong agent, stated that the robot may bring emotional fulfillment to humans through talks while also serving as a teacher for older persons and youngsters. Robots can also be programmed with diverse personalities. Some Chinese exhibitors showed their accomplishments at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center on Monday, demonstrating robotic capabilities ranging from conversing to humans.
