RIYADH: The development of scientists is the goal of the 2024 STEAM Festival, which got underway at the King Salman Science Oasis on Monday, according to event director Ahmed Salim, who spoke with Arab News. The festival, which has the theme “Fun Chemistry” and runs through September 30, seeks to provide guests with an enjoyable, educational, and enlightening experience. There will be one hundred workshops, panel discussions, live performances, and other events in the STEAM fields.
The Saudi National Commission for Education, Culture, and Science, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, the ministries of education, industry, and mineral resources, and the King Salman Science Oasis collaborated to organise it.
Salim, the founder of 1001 Inventions, a science and cultural heritage organisation that organises the STEAM Festival, told Arab News that there is a “massive demand for scientists” due to the Kingdom’s push for scientific and technological advancements.
Because art has a special value in enhancing people’s approach to developing technology and engineering, STEAM, formerly known as STEM, has expanded to include art, according to Salim. He continued, We want people to create technology and engineering projects that are also themselves works of art.
