RIYADH: The Fashion Commission and Saudi Arabia’s Cultural Development Fund recently invited Italian entrepreneur and luxury fashion designer Brunello Cucinelli to AlUla. According to the Saudi Press Agency, the event bolstered the fund’s objective to support businesses and creatives in the cultural sector by encouraging sustainability and knowledge exchange.
It sought to link Saudi businesses and creatives with international cultural specialists, offering a forum for discussion and exchanging knowledge and best practices to spur development and creativity. According to the SPA, the session’s main goals were to merge creativity and innovation, enhance cultural identity, and include a variety of methodologies in cultural enterprises.
In a panel titled “Brunello Cucinelli: From Castel Rigone to the World,” Cucinelli talked about his career and essential topics like creating a global fashion brand, fusing innovation and tradition, luxury fashion sustainability, social responsibility, cross-cultural interaction, and the future of fashion. He underlined that authenticity and sustainability in fashion depend on craftsmanship.
The event supports the fund’s initiatives to lower startup costs, maintain creativity in the cultural sector, and enhance the management, financial, and technological skills of creatives. More than SR30 million ($8 million) in credit agreements were signed by the fund in November to finance Saudi fashion initiatives, promoting job creation and growth under Saudi Vision 2030.
