As SDAIA Scales the Country's Transformation, More than 424,000 Saudis Sign up for AI Training

As part of the Kingdom’s ambitious plan to provide 1 million Saudis with fundamental knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI), more than 424,000 Saudi citizens have signed up for the “SAMAI” initiative, an AI awareness and training program run by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA). The program is in line with Vision 2030 and represents the country’s larger aspirations to create a society empowered by technology.

SDAIA emphasised the expanding global impact of data and AI technologies, which it claimed are driving revolutionary change across various sectors, including education, healthcare, industry, cybersecurity, agriculture, energy, and national security.

In addition to increasing creativity and productivity, these technologies are assisting in the resolution of difficult developmental problems in order to build a more sustainable, inclusive, and peaceful society.

Since its founding in 2019, SDAIA has emerged as the national authority for data and AI regulation and advancement in the Kingdom. Through specialized training and certifications, the authority works to ensure ethical AI activities, maximize the economic worth of data, and build local skills.

A thorough set of AI ethical guidelines and regulatory frameworks, including recommendations on deepfake content, generative AI, national data governance, and academic standards for AI-related fields, were also released by SDAIA for use by the public and government agencies. These rules are intended to guarantee the responsible, safe, and culturally appropriate use of AI technologies.
