At Holy Sites, Prince Abdulaziz Bin Saud Examines Development Projects

Monday saw an inspection trip of several major development projects at the Holy Sites by Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee.

Prince Abdulaziz was briefed on the improvement projects that were carried out this year to benefit the pilgrims during his tour. These included the newly constructed pedestrian road in Mash’ar al-Haram, which has pathways for the elderly and pilgrims with impairments, as well as the renovated campgrounds on the broad fields of Arafat and the new locations for pilgrims to spend the night in Muzdalifah. Its construction incorporated environmentally friendly materials that promote sustainability and help to lower the heat near the pedestrian pathways.

During the tour, the interior minister also inaugurated the Kidana Al-Wadi residential towers project in Mina, which was designed and implemented in accordance with the architectural identity of the Holy Sites, and includes towers featuring integrated services with the aim of enriching the pilgrims’ experience and improving the services provided to them.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud was escorted on the tour by a number of ministries as well as senior military and civilian personnel. Among them were Prince Saud bin Mishal, Deputy Emir of Makkah and Deputy Chairman of the Central Hajj Committee; Minister of Hajj and Umrah Tawfiq Al-Rabiah; Minister of Transport and Logistics, Eng. Saleh Al-Jasser; Minister of Health, Fahd Al-Jalajel; Minister of Media, Salman Al-Dosary; Deputy Interior Minister, Dr. Nasser Al-Daoud; Assistant Interior Minister for Operations Affairs, Lt. Gen. Saeed Al-Qahtani; as well as Assistant Interior Ministers Hisham Al-Falih and Dr. Abdel Fattah Mashat.
