Australia PM Accuses Netanyahu of Being ‘In Denial’ Over Gaza Suffering

Benjamin Netanyahu, the leader of Israel, is “in denial” about the agony imposed on Gaza, according to Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and the world community is now declaring, Enough is enough.

A day after declaring that Australia will recognize Palestinian statehood at the UN next month, Albanese claimed that the country’s decision to recognize a Palestinian state was influenced by its dissatisfaction with the Israeli administration in light of the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.

In an interview with state broadcaster ABC on Tuesday, Albanese stated, “[Netanyahu] reiterated to me what he has said publicly as well, which is to be in denial about the consequences that are occurring for innocent people.

According to Albanese, he told Netanyahu last week that Australia will be joining France, Canada, and the United Kingdom in recognizing a Palestinian state in the September UN General Assembly conference.

He claimed that Netanyahu was arguing the same points he raised the previous year about how Israel’s assault on Gaza, which has already claimed the lives of almost 61,500 Palestinians since October 2023, was being conducted.
