In partnership with Boeing, the Saudi Communications, Space and Technology Commission has started a training program for students studying aerospace engineering.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the month-long program seeks to give participants the opportunity to advance their knowledge of aerospace engineering and sciences while also giving them invaluable hands-on experience with space technologies.
Boeing, a major player in the industry, stated that it is taking part in the program to support the development of local talent and provide graduates and students with real-world experience and knowledge in these crucial areas.
The project, according to the space commission, aims to help students advance professionally and improve their knowledge of space technology in order to better position them for the workforce.
There will be two stages to the program. The first will be a theoretical phase where students will study advanced architectural design using NASA insights, including research related to lunar and Martian missions, at a Boeing site in Texas.
In the second, hands-on phase, participants will work on real-world projects including developing a carbon dioxide-removal system for use in Martian and lunar conditions at a Boeing facility in Alabama.
