Can a New Police Force Stabilize Gaza Strip After War?

Can a New Police Force Stabilize Gaza Strip After War?

While speaking in Miami on Thursday, Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of United States President Donald Trump, stated that he is trying to establish a police force in Gaza as well as a sovereign fund with the assistance of the Saudi government in order to restore the Palestinian enclave.

More than seventy percent of the applications for the Palestinian police force in Gaza have “passed our vetting,” he stated at the Priority Summit held by the Future Investment Initiative in Miami. There have been around two hundred thousand requests for the position.

We would like to see this region constructed for the people of Gaza, at the very least in Gaza, and we would like to see it constructed for them. According to Kushner, who was speaking in reference to the United Nations undersecretary-general for humanitarian affairs, “We’ve been able to work with the United Nations.” Tom Fletcher deserves a great deal of praise as well.

It was stated by Kushner that he is currently in “the final stages” of negotiations with Hamas regarding the demilitarization of the organization, “where they basically agreed in principle to follow through. Among the countries that have shown their support for his efforts in Gaza, he singled out Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey by name.
