CAIRO/GAZA: Health officials reported that an Israeli bombing outside a school housing displaced Palestinians on Monday killed at least ten people and injured dozens more. This is the most recent bloodshed to overshadow the precarious US-backed truce agreement in Gaza. Medics and locals reported that prior to the strikes, some Palestinians had clashed with members of a militia supported by Israel, who they claimed attacked the school in an effort to kidnap some people.
At least ten people were killed, and numerous more were injured as Israeli drones fired two missiles into the region east of the Maghazi refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip during the fighting, they added.
The number of civilians killed in the strikes, which occurred in a densely populated neighborhood of primarily displaced Palestinians, was not immediately apparent. Eyewitness Ahmed Al-Maghazi claimed that before the militia opened fire, members of the Israeli-backed militia, which operates in the area next to where Israeli soldiers are in charge, attacked their area.
He told Reuters, “The occupation forces targeted the residents directly despite their attempts to defend their homes. Later on Monday, a militia leader supported by Israel claimed to have killed five Hamas members in a video that Reuters was unable to immediately verify.
