RIYADH: The first direct seasonal flights between Al-Ahsa International Airport and Rize-Artvin Airport in Turkiye were opened Thursday by Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr, governor of Al-Ahsa, according to the Saudi Press Agency. Several authorities were present for the event, which was organised in collaboration with Turkish Airlines and Al-Ghazal Travel and Tourism Agency.
To improve air connectivity and increase the number of international travel options available to passengers from the governorate and the Eastern Province, especially during the summer, the inauguration is part of the expansion plans for seasonal destinations served by Al-Ahsa International Airport, according to SPA.
According to Prince Saud, this action was a continuation of the leadership’s backing for the civil aviation and air transport industries, as well as its dedication to building infrastructure and raising the standard of services offered to locals.
According to SPA, this satisfies the desire of the people of Al-Ahsa governorate to have direct international flights via the local airport and is in line with Saudi Vision 2030’s objectives to expand the tourist and economic sectors.
