RIYADH: Mariam Al-Ahmar, 23, is becoming well-known as an inspiration for Saudi Arabia’s youth who aspire to advance their country during a time when technology is reshaping the Kingdom.
Al-Ahmar, who received his bachelor’s degree in software engineering from Prince Sattam University, recently emerged victorious in the Mediathon hackathon, an event arranged by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in May of this year.
Additionally, from November 2023 to January of this year, she placed third in Tamkeenthon, a health-focused competition held by the Authority for the Care of Persons with Disabilities.
Because of his success, Al-Ahmar has become well-known throughout Saudi Arabia and has been featured on several major television programs, such as MBC’s “Good Morning Arabs” and Al-Akhbariya’s “120 Minutes.” After some thought, Al-Ahmar called her journey through the Mediathon and Tamkeenthon competitions “enriching” and “challenging.
Al-Ahmar told Arab News that presenting and explaining this problem and its solution to the judging committee was another challenge. But with the help of my committed teammates and our strong teamwork, we overcame these obstacles and prevailed.
