EVIQ and Blacklane Collaborate to Increase the Number of EV Charging Stations in Saudi Arabia

JEDDAH: A strategic alliance between Blacklane and EVIQ will expand electric car charging infrastructure throughout Saudi Arabia, accelerating the Kingdom’s transition to sustainable and clean mobility.

According to a press release, the international chauffeur-driven transport company will work with EVIQ, a joint venture between the Public Investment Fund and Saudi Electricity Co., to support the Kingdom’s EV charging network expansion across important cities and mobility hubs.

With an emphasis on clean technology and environmental responsibility, the program seeks to encourage the construction of sustainable infrastructure in accordance with Saudi Vision 2030. Additionally, it supports the Kingdom’s objective to attain net-zero emissions by 2060, which it hopes to accomplish ahead of schedule, and to convert 30% of Riyadh’s automobiles to electric by 2030.

By combining national charging infrastructure with premium fleet operations, we aim to reinforce the foundation for a scalable, future-ready transport ecosystem aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030,” stated Mohammed Bakr Gazzaz, CEO of EVIQ.

Blacklane’s new regional headquarters for the Gulf area in Riyadh will include an integrated charging centre, one of the many specialised charging stations for car fleets that will be developed as part of the agreement.
