Experts Predict That Saudi Arabia Will Emerge as The Silicon Valley of The Middle East

RIYADH: Thanks to a flurry of high-profile projects and significant investments, Saudi Arabia is quickly becoming a regional technological hotspot that has been compared to Silicon Valley, experts told Arab News. Project Transcendence, a ground-breaking $100 billion effort started in 2024, is at the centre of this change. Building a comprehensive artificial intelligence ecosystem in Saudi Arabia is the goal of the initiative, which is being led by the Kingdom’s Public Investment Fund in collaboration with Google.

The project is expected to put the Kingdom at the forefront of regional innovation by supporting the expansion of regional digital businesses, creating job opportunities, and encouraging partnerships with international tech companies. The annual LEAP technology conference, which continues to attract international interest, supports these initiatives. With more than 170,000 attendees and more than $14.9 billion in investments, the 2025 edition of the event demonstrated Saudi Arabia’s increasing allure as a location for innovation and technology.

These changes are essential to the Kingdom’s larger Vision 2030 economic reform plan, which seeks to diversify the economy and lessen its historically heavy reliance on oil earnings. Saudi Arabia is solidifying its position as a major force in the global IT scene with smart initiatives and solid international alliances.
