According to a survey conducted by the National Center for Public Opinion Polls (Rai), about 60% of Riyadh residents would choose public transportation and the metro to get to work or school.
According to the survey, 71 percent of respondents think the metro will alter their commuter routines, and 80 percent think it will help draw in more foreign investment to Riyadh. According to the survey, 83 percent of respondents think the metro will improve the environment, and 81 percent think it will lessen traffic congestion.
When asked where they want to travel by metro, 30% of respondents stated that they would like to visit entertainment venues, 24% stated that they would go shopping on metro trains, and 15% stated that they would use the metro to visit family and friends.
The report also revealed the metro’s top priorities for Riyadh residents. About 40% of survey respondents believe that a station should be located near their place of employment or housing, 27% are worried about its speed, 22% are concerned about safety, and 11% are concerned about preventing harassment.
