JEDDAH — Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, Minister of Hajj and Umrah, reported that more over 18.5 million foreign pilgrims conducted Hajj and Umrah in 2024. “This was accomplished with the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and the direct backing and supervision of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. We will continue to make the guest of God our number one priority,” he stated during his statement at the fourth Hajj Conference and Exhibition at the Jeddah Superdome.
On Monday evening, the Hajj Conference and Exhibition 2025 was opened under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman by Deputy Emir of Makkah Region Prince Saud bin Mishal. Prince Saud bin Mishal toured the exhibition, hosted alongside the conference.
According to al-Rabiah, the number of visitors to the Rawdah Sharif at the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah will approach 13 million by 2024. “We worked on developing the experience of visiting the Rawdah Sharif and hence we qualified human cadres, facilitated electronic reservation procedures, and created a professional grouping system that ensures the quality of service, and this resulted in an increase in the number of visitors to the Rawdah from four million in 2022 to more than 13 million visitors in 2024,” according to him. The minister stated that work has been done to improve the competitiveness of Hajj firms, as their number has grown to 45, contributing to greater pilgrim satisfaction with their services.
