How Japan Became a Top Destination for GCC Travelers in 2025

The GCC market outperformed as demand for upscale, experience-driven travel increased, according to the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), which reported a robust increase in tourist arrivals to Japan in 2025.

According to the most recent data from JNTO, there were 42,683,837 foreign visitors to Japan in 2025, a record annual total and a 15.8% year-over-year rise. At the same time, 55,924 tourists arrived from the six GCC nations, outpacing global growth and representing a 25.2% rise from the prior year. This indicates that travelers from the Gulf region are becoming more interested in Japan.

Travelers from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) are still very interested in Japan because of its varied seasonal attractions, rich cultural legacy, stunning natural scenery, and better aviation connectivity. JNTO’s continuous marketing campaigns in the GCC region have also helped raise awareness of Japan as a high-end travel destination that provides comfort, authenticity, safety, and high-quality experiences.

Japan provides GCC tourists with the perfect blend of refined travel experiences, beautiful scenery, and cool weather as summer draws near. Highlights include Hokkaido, Japan’s northernmost island, which is well-known for its expansive, pristine landscapes and pleasant climate, making it one of the nation’s most alluring summer travel destinations.
