How Saudi Arabia's Air Defense Systems Stopped the Houthi Missile Attack

Saudi Arabia has said that it has successfully intercepted ballistic missiles that were fired at the southern region of the Kingdom by the Houthi movement, which is supported by Iran. In a statement, the spokesperson for the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, stated that Saudi air defenses “have dealt with a threat from ballistic missiles launched by the terrorist Houthi militia toward the southern region.

The Yemeni military forces announced earlier on Monday that they had targeted the runway at Sanaa Airport in order to prevent an Iranian airliner from arriving at the airport. President Rashad Al-Alimi, who serves as the chairman of Yemen’s presidential leadership council, stated that the action was made in order to “protect national sovereignty.

In order to defeat the purpose that Iran seeks to achieve by pulling Yemen and its people into wars that suit its own interests, using Yemen’s land and people as a card in its regional battle, the leader stated that he had ordered that “the scope of confrontation not be expanded.” This was done in order to prevent Iran from achieving its goal.
