RIYADH: At the high-level meeting on regional security and collaboration between the Gulf collaboration Council and the EU, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan met with his Spanish counterpart, Jose Manuel Albares.
During their meeting on Monday, the Saudi Foreign Ministry said that the two ministers discussed regional and global topics of mutual concern, particularly developments in the Gaza Strip. They also talked about relations between their respective countries.
Manal Radwan, an adviser at the ministry; Khaled Al-Jandan, the Saudi ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg; Haifa Al-Jedea, the Saudi ambassador and head of mission to the EU, and others were there. The forum will be chaired by Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Qatar, the Chairman of the current session of the Ministerial Council Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, and High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Joseph Borrell.
Senior officials and the foreign ministers of the GCC and EU states will attend. Last month, the Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary General met in Brussels with Luigi Di Maio, the EU Special Representative for the Gulf region. They discussed the preparations for the forum and the topics that need to be highlighted, mainly the situation in Gaza and the bilateral relations between the Gulf countries and the European Union.
