In Miami, The Nissan Formula E Team Finishes With a Double Point and Pole Position

Following an exciting Round 5 of the 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in Miami, Petromin Corporation, through its e-mobility subsidiary Electromin, is pleased to celebrate its continued relationship with Nissan Formula E Team. Despite a post-race penalty that impacted the final standings, driver Norman Nato achieved an incredible accomplishment by crossing the finish line first and securing Nissan’s first pole position of the season, making the weekend an important milestone for the team.

Petromin’s dedication to promoting sustainable transportation and leading electric car innovation globally is demonstrated by this partnership. In one of the season’s most difficult races, the Nissan Formula E Team fought hard, showcasing their versatility and tenacity. Norman Nato, Oliver Rowland, and the team put on a strong show, earning important points and insightful information for the next championship, even if they fell short of a podium result.

Norman Nato advanced through the duels in qualifying and put up a strong show in the final, earning his first-ever Julius Baer Pole Position trophy with a memorable lap. In a very contested Group A session, teammate Oliver Rowland finished 16th on the starting grid, just missing out on a top four position.

Nato kept his lead from the start and continuously battled in the top five as the race began in the Sunshine State. As he moved slowly through the pack, Rowland concentrated on managing his energy. With six minutes of Attack Mode left, Rowland was in P11 and NATO was in P6 when a red flag appeared on Lap 22. They used the additional 50kW right away at the restart, with Rowland coming in fourth and NATO reaching the line first.
