Japan Intends to use Exhibitions in the Kingdom to Draw in more Saudi Tourists

DUBAI: As Japan and Saudi Arabia approach their 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations, the Japan National Tourism Office is planning more exhibitions to attract Saudi travelers, the organization’s Dubai executive director Daisuke Kobayashi said.

Kobayashi told Arab News Japan that JNTO hopes to maintain “strong partnerships” with local travel agencies and related organizations. Through these collaborations, we aim to deliver more comprehensive and engaging information to Saudi travelers, encouraging them to discover Japan’s unique experiences,” he said.

We observed throughout the event that attendees were interested in visiting Japan, especially in the spring, to see the cherry blossoms,” he said. Additionally, we observed an increase in interest in Japan’s summer and winter goods. Summer festivals, winter activities like taking in the snow-covered landscapes, and natural sceneries all piqued visitors’ curiosity.
In April, another popular destination for Saudi and GCC tourists is Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai.

Kobayashi claims that traditional Japanese lodgings like ryokan (Japanese-style inns), which frequently offer onsen (hot spring) experiences and real Japanese food, are typically of the greatest attraction to visitors from the area.
