The fourth iteration of the “Al Marmoom: Film in the Desert” festival was opened by Sheikha Latifa Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture).
The event, which is organized by Dubai Culture at the Al Marmoom Desert Reserve, aims to promote the local film industry by giving creatives a cutting-edge platform that encourages them to express their ideas and show off their creations to a larger audience. Over 80 feature films will be screened during the festival, which is part of the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033.
With the subject “Where Stories Come to Life,” the event will run through January 12 and feature talks with a prestigious group of filmmakers, artists, and film industry professionals as well as interactive workshops and panel discussions.
Sheikha Latifa emphasized that Dubai’s vast capacities, cutting-edge infrastructure, and distinctive creative climate that encourages innovation have allowed it to succeed in luring top directors and talent in the film business.
She emphasized that the emirate is establishing itself as a leading destination for creating and producing cinematic material, strengthening its position as a cultural and creative capital, and expanding its worldwide leadership through its ambitious projects and initiatives.
