KACST's Venture Program Produces 46 Deep-tech Startups

RIYADH: In a recent ceremony, 46 deep-tech startups received their degrees from the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology’s Venture Program. Emerging technology, energy, healthcare, and renewable resources are just a few of the industries represented among the graduating entrepreneurs.

Notable attendees included EA Systems, which specialized in advanced engineering solutions for industrial automation and efficiency; PainTech Solutions, a company creating cutting-edge approaches to pain management and medical treatments; and Glass Earth KSA, which specializes in geospatial technology solutions for environmental monitoring.

To help deep-tech entrepreneurs turn research into commercially viable goods and services, the KACST Venture Program offers resources, mentorship, and strategic alliances. The National Technological Development Program funded the initiative and awarded several private-sector companies technological licenses.

Key players, including government representatives, researchers, and private investors, were present at the graduation ceremony, which was held at KACST’s The Garage business incubator in Riyadh. KACST President Munir El-Desouki was among the dignitaries present and commended the initiative’s contribution to Saudi Arabia’s economic transformation.

At KACST, we worked to connect emerging companies with the government and private sectors and investors to develop ideas and innovations and turn them into marketable products and services to support the national economy,” stated Khalid Al-Dakkan, senior vice president of innovation.
