KSA Presents Urban Projects at the Cairo Forum

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s pavilion at the 12th World Urban Forum in Cairo, which started Monday and runs through November 8, was visited by Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, the head of the Kingdom’s delegation, and Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly of Egypt.

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing organised the pavilion, which has areas for conferences, workshops, and discussions. It has 150 delegates from different Saudi organisations and more than 40 interactive activities.

The Saudi Press Agency said on Tuesday that the pavilion showcases creative solutions and successful experiences while highlighting Saudi Arabia’s efforts in sustainable city planning and urban development.

It also highlights the Kingdom’s accomplishments under Vision 2030, such as improved city municipal services, sustainable transportation networks, and infrastructure upgrades.

Prince Faisal met with the heads of a number of delegations on the fringes of the meeting to talk about strengthening collaboration and sharing knowledge. He spoke with Istanbul’s mayor, Ekrem Imamoglu, on possible cooperation between Riyadh and Istanbul, emphasising the sharing of expertise.

He also had a meeting to discuss cooperation with Anar Guliyev, who is the chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture in Azerbaijan and a member of the cabinet.
