SEOUL: According to the KCNA state news agency on Wednesday, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un stated that next-stage measures for bolstering the nation’s nuclear war deterrent will be unveiled at the upcoming Workers’ Party congress.
According to KCNA, Kim oversaw a successful test of a large-caliber multiple-rocket launch system on Tuesday. According to him, the workout showed notable improvements in the weapon’s accuracy, agility, and attack power.
Building a dependable offensive capacity and deterrent strategy to frustrate an enemy attempt to start an armed conflict is a key goal of the ruling Workers’ Party, he said. The forces who want to incite a military conflict with us will be seriously threatened by this test, which will cause agonizing mental pain, Kim stated.
On Tuesday, South Korea and Japan denounced the North’s potential launch of short-range ballistic missiles toward the sea off its east coast. North Korea has disregarded a UN prohibition on the development of ballistic missiles.
Regarding the impending governing party congress, which is anticipated to happen at some point in the following weeks, Kim did not go into further detail. The nation has not disclosed the dates.
