Over a Tonne of Qat is Seized by Saudi Border Guards

1,222 kg of qat were seized as a result of the General Administration of the Mujahideen and Border Guard patrols successfully foiling several smuggling efforts in Jazan and the Asir Region.

Patrols in Jazan stopped 507 kg of qat from being smuggled in, and after following the necessary regulatory procedures, the confiscated goods were given to the relevant authorities.

Additionally, 240 kg of qat were seized by security units in the Asir Region from the Al-Farsha Governorate.

Eleven Ethiopians were detained by Border Guards in the Asir Region’s Al-Raboah sector for trying to smuggle 275 kg of qat.

The suspects were taken into custody, preliminary legal procedures were carried out, and the drugs that had been found were turned over to the appropriate authorities.

200 kg of qat were not allowed to get over the borders thanks to Border Guard operations in Jazan’s Al-Ardah area.

The confiscated objects were swiftly given to the authorities after the initial regulatory processes were completed.

Anyone with information about drug smuggling or associated activity is asked to report it.
