PIF-Owned Riyadh Air Forms International Alliances with Air China and Singapore Airlines

In order to forge strategic alliances and broaden its worldwide network, Riyadh Air, the newest airline in Saudi Arabia, has inked contracts with Singapore Airlines and Air China.

The agreement prioritizes digital innovation, customer experience, cargo services, interline connection, codeshare agreements, and possible cooperation in frequent flyer programs.

Memorandums of understanding were signed by Singapore Airlines CEO Goh Choon Phong and CEO of Riyadh Air Tony Douglas during the 80th International Air Transport Association Annual General Meeting in Dubai, which took place from June 2–4.

With a planned 2025 commercial launch, Riyadh Air will provide its customers access to Singapore Airlines’ network, which covers Southeast Asia and the South Pacific, expanding its travel options and attracting new clients.

The close relationship between Saudi Arabia and China is reflected in the Memorandum of Understanding with Air China, the nation’s flag carrier.

The agreement, which was signed on June 3 during the IATA AGM, is to investigate collaboration in interline traffic and codeshare arrangements in order to promote easy travel between China and the Middle East.

According to the statement, this collaboration is in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and China’s Belt and Road Initiative.

“Our relationship with Air China, a top international airline with an extensive network in important Chinese markets, supports Riyadh Air’s aspirational future plans,” stated Douglas.
