RIYADH: On Monday, reliable sources refuted to Al Arabiya Saudi Arabia’s involvement in stopping Iranian drones during their attack on Israel on Saturday.
Statements purportedly from an official Saudi website had appeared on Israeli news websites, claiming that Saudi Arabia was a member of the defense coalition that recently faced Iranian attacks.
The sources told Al Arabiya that there is no official website that has released a statement regarding Saudi Arabia’s involvement in intercepting attacks against Israel.
Iran claimed that the drone and missile attacks against Israel on Saturday night and Sunday morning were in retaliation for many crimes, including the April 1 attack on its consulate in Damascus.
While the Israeli army declared that it had intercepted 99 percent of the Iranian missiles, Tehran stated that the attack was directed towards military targets. As observed from Ashkelon, Israel, on April 14, 2024, a Saudi website claims that the Kingdom took part in the most recent defense coalition that repelled the Iranian attacks. An anti-missile system is in place as a result of Iran launching drones and missiles toward Israel.
