Saudi and Kuwaiti Defense Leaders Meet to Discuss Regional Cooperation

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Defence, Prince Khalid bin Salman, hosted his Kuwaiti counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, in Riyadh on Tuesday for high-level talks aimed at strengthening military ties between the two Gulf neighbours.

The meeting focused on the long-standing brotherly relations between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait and explored ways to deepen defence cooperation. Both sides reviewed existing security collaboration and discussed practical steps to enhance joint efforts in areas of strategic importance. The discussions also covered recent developments across the region and the shared work underway to address evolving challenges.

Officials on both sides emphasized the importance of ongoing coordination to maintain stability and improve defence readiness. Several issues of mutual interest featured on the agenda, reflecting a shared commitment to coordinated responses in an unpredictable regional environment.

The Saudi delegation included senior military and defence officials, such as Deputy Minister of Defence Prince Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Ayyaf, Chief of the General Staff General Fayyadh Al-Ruwaili and the minister’s adviser for intelligence affairs. Kuwait’s delegation was led by Sheikh Abdullah Al-Sabah and included governors and senior defence representatives from the Kuwaiti government.
