RIYADH: As the holy month of Ramadan comes to an end, Saudi Arabia is getting ready for the week-long festival known as Eid Al-Fitr. Mosques all around the Kingdom are getting ready for the Eid Al-Fitr prayer, and people are swarming shopping malls to purchase toys, apparel, and confections for the yearly event. Families are preparing for the big event as Eid approaches. According to Abdulaziz Ali Saleh, an Eid shopper in Dheera Market, Riyadh, “Eid Al-Fitr, the week-long celebration that marks the end of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting and religious introspection, is just a few days away, and preparations have already begun for the annual celebration.”
Making the gowns and thobes that would be worn to his family’s get-togethers is a significant aspect of Eid buying, he continued. “We go to stores, pick some very lovely fabrics, and have the outfits ready for us to wear when we wake up on the day of Eid Al-Fitr since it’s a great tradition to wear new garments on this day. We also purchase chocolates and candies for the children,” Rumana Shahid, a Riyadh housewife, said.
